Tempered and Heat Strengthened Glass
Tempered and heat-strengthened glass is made by heating ordinary glass to its softening point and then suddenly cooling down to form compression in the surface layer of the glass, thus the mechanical strength is increased by times.

Features of Tempered Glass
Safety: Once breakage occurs, the glass disintegrates into small cubical fragments which are relatively harmless to human body.
High strength: 5 times stronger than annealed glass.
Excellent thermal stability: it withstands abrupt change of temperature.

Features of Heat Strengthened Glass
Mechanical strength is 1.6-2 times of annealed glass.
Outstanding thermal stability.
Flatness is close to annealed glass and much better than tempered glass

Heat Soak Test
Heat soak testing is a three-stage process that includes a ramp-up, dwelling time at 290℃ and a cool-down phase. Heat soak testing is performed on fully tempered uncoated or pyrolytic glass products to reduce the probability of spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulfide inclusions that may exist in tempered float glass.

Applications
All tempered glass should undergo heat soak test.

Bent Tempered Glass and Curved Tempered Glass
Bent Tempered Glass and Curved Tempered Glass adopt the similar process with tempered glass, but before the cooling process, using the external power bent the glass to a proper radian according to the requirement, its wind pressure resistance is better than flat tempered glass and other kinds of glass for the special shape. It widely use in esthetics architecture field for the beautiful appearance.
